BORDER FEST 2007
From March 1st to 4th 2007 took place the Border Fest 2007 in the facilities of the Dodge Arena in the city of Hidalgo, Tx. This is a festival that already has several years of existence and in which in addition to the concerts, the assistants can enjoy food, mechanical games for the children and exhibitions. This is the first event after 20 years in which the Hermes Music Foundation collects money, thanks to God and to the good will of the assistants, the amount collected was $2.852,65 dlls. We placed two guitars without cords and those that managed to insert two shot sponge balls from a toy pistol, won a new guitar, 30 guitars were given during the 4 days and those that just inserted a single ball, gained a soccer ball.
Another activity that we had was the raffle of two guitars, autographed by “Mana” and another one by “Intocable”, the winners were chosen during the Sunday concert in the presentation of the “Ramon Ayala” and the “Mafia”.
In the first game, people paid $1,00 dlls. with 3 opportunities to throw and the ticket of the raffle cost $2,00 dlls.
According to the organizers, 50 thousand people attended in the four days. Some of the attending artists, besides Ramon Ayala & the Mafia, were Grupo Mazz, among others. This year the main subject of the Border Fest was Ireland.
The winners of the “Maná” guitar were: Danisio and Yesenia Rib of Harlingen, Tx. and the guitar of “Intocable” was gained by Dania Ramirez de Hidalgo, TX.
